Adventure on the Creek
Do you have it takes to compete in a triathlon? Whether you are in it to win it or just up for the challenge, the City of Del Rio welcomes all athletes for this annual race.
Adventure on the Creek is a creation by the Education Foundation in support of teachers and a way to get the community involved in a friendly competition. Athletes & teams are put to the test with a 6.5-mile bike ride, 2.7- mile run, and a 1.25 kayak race. The event takes place at Rotary Park as the course showcases the best of Del Rio.
A race like that calls for an ice-cold beer. Mesquite Creek Outfitters is a brew pub pouring up Texas beers, award-winning micheladas, and select wines. New to the establishment is an outdoor patio and a spacious Airbnb apartment. The living area was once the town’s pharmacy but now hosts visitors as a rental property. It sleeps eight and it the perfect location to stay, play and enjoy Downtown Del Rio.
