Racing to the 51st Cuero Turkeyfest
There’s a great turkey gallop in Cuero, TX and you don’t want to miss it! Every year at the annual Cuero Turkeyfest, the City of Cuero hosts a race worth watching. It’s called the Great Gobbler Gallop, where two turkey’s, Ruby Begonia of Cuero, TX and Paycheck of Worthington, Minnesota, compete for the title of “Turkey Capital of the World”. It’s a long-standing tradition that’s been played out for over 50 years.
What started off as a rivalry between two cities and two states, has now grown into an all-out festival. Folks can enjoy carnival rides, live music, family-friendly entertainment, and samplings of the barbecue cook-off. It’s a three-day event.
Who will be crowned this year’s Turkey Capital of the World? Find out October 13-15, 2023!
