Discover the I-10 Community
Constructed in the 1960s, I-10 serves over 200,000 drivers daily. Through the corridor are several exits leading to small towns rich in Lone Star State history.
Our first detour is Seguin, one of 15 locations in the I-10 Community Alliance.
If you’re travelling between Houston and San Antonio, take a pit stop in the “Pecan Capital of Texas”. The residents of Seguin are also a little nutty. The Pape’s Pecan Nutcracker Museum is a mainstay for locals and visitors alike. But you cannot leave without treating yourself to a specialty cupcake from Sweet Treats Seguin.
After that, drive over to Gonzales, one of the earliest settlements in the state. Home of the “Come and Take It” cannon, the historical significance of the town cannot be understated.
