Glen Rose Moonshine Festival
Did you know Glen Rose used to be the perfect location to distill moonshine & spirits during the prohibition era? So much so Glen Rose garnered the name “The Whiskey Woods Capital of Texas”! For 100 years, the City of Glen Rose has celebrated its natural elements and water by throwing a community party every August in the downtown district. At the annual Moonshine Festival, local businesses gather for a weekend of merriment, markets, tastings, and a lot of moonshine!
Learn about the unique history and historical figures of the prohibition era, the Texas Rangers and why Glen Rose was considered the Moonshine Capitol of Texas for years at one of the Moonshine exhibits. While you’re there, sample a few moonshine cocktails and see a still with your own eyes.
