Guten Tag, Fredericksburg
Say guten tag to Fredericksburg, Texas – a town known for its wine, food, and, most of all, rich German history. We visited the Pioneer Museum to take a step back in time and learn about the Texas gem’s early beginning. Since 1935, the Pioneer Museum has been preserving the history of the German settlers who founded the quaint town. Visitors can walk around the historic grounds, learn the German language at the schoolhouse, or take part in activities like rope making. To give a full picture of early Fredericksburg, artifacts are displayed in their original places – including four out of the ten cabins on site. If you’re not ready to say auf wiedersehen, you can do as the pioneers did and uncover more of the historic town with a walking tour.
