Season 5, Episode 8
Join us this week on our trip across Texas! We start at the inaugural MariARTchi Festival in Uvalde! For one day in September, Texans can celebrate sights and sounds of the Hispanic culture.
Next we head to San Antonio. Tu Asador is a family-owned and operated restaurant that grills up carne asadas con amor – but to the González family, it’s more than just food. Carne asadas are gatherings, usually with family-style meals cooked off the grill – a tradition the González’s began in Monterrey, Mexico and brought to Texas.
Then, there are many reasons to love South Padre Island, but things got sweeter when Café Karma opened a second location. Since 2017, Café Karma has kept islanders caffeinated with lattes, ice creams, and crepes. Talk about starting off the morning right!
Looking for an adventure activity that stimulates the mind and body? Since 2001, Rock-About has been providing rock-climbing tours for Austinites and Central Texas residents.
That’s all coming up on this week’s YOLO TX!
